Isn’t Port Liberte a great place to live?  This morning, at about 10:30 am, the space shuttle Enterprise, sitting atop a 747 transport and escorted by a fighter jet, flew by Port Liberte on it’s way to it new home on the USS Intreped. The picture above was taken from the terrace of The Point restaurant. I will post a link to additional photographs over the weekend.

Last Friday for the first time in quite awhile, I took the NY Waterways ferry from Port Liberte to Pier 11. When I got to the terminal one of the crew members told me that I could now buy my ticket on my Iphone. After downloading the App and completing a short signup process, I was able to purchase my ticket. In addition to purchasing and activating tickets (just show the crew the screen after activating) there are multiple ticket purchase options as well as schedules, route maps and other information all easily available. Mike (husband) and some of our Port Liberte friends were excited to try a new restaurant in downtown Jersey City on Grand Street at Liberty Harbor. Trattoria Abbondanza surpassed our greatest expectations. How nice to find parking and then to be greeted by the gracious owners. If you like brick oven pizza or superb Italian cuisine, try this restaurant. Bring your own favorite bottle of wine. After dinner we enjoyed a wonderfully performed show at the Attic Ensemble Theater, Next Fall. As always, the actors and the play were superb.

What would a Friday night be without some food, friends, and drinks at the Pointe Restaurant in Port Liberte? The Alan Quinn group featuring Jeanine with an amazing voice doing old favorites last Friday made an enjoyable evening. If you are new to Port Liberte this is a great way to meet some of your neighbors.
