Mike and I attended one of the many Super Bowl parties in Port Liberte on Sunday. For a non-football fan, I was into the excitement and happy for our Giants, my condolences to the Patriot fans in Port Liberte. Our hosts served a wonderful buffet including sliders and wings and one of Mike’s specialties, empanadas. We are still on carb overload. Weight Watchers here I come. Anybody want to meet for a walk in Port Liberté with me?

Port Liberte real estate market update – February 1, 2012

I have started to see a surge of buyers visiting Port Liberte over the last week or two and have even had a bidding war over a property for the first time in quite a while, a positive sign that the market may be starting to turn.

I look forward to the time that Port Liberte short sales are a thing of the past and we see prices start to appreciate. This is going to take time but any indication of progress is a good sign. Port Liberte inventory of both sale and rental properties are currently near historically low levels. Tenants are telling me that they love living in Port Liberte and many say they plan to buy a Port Liberte home in the future.

“Barbara is one of the most talented agents I have ever worked with. She is kind, sweet and generous. She did not treat me like a client but like family. Barbara has rented my condo out several times and I think the longest it took her to rent it was a week. Most of the time, it was done in 1-2 days. When I decided to sell, I knew Barbara was going to be my agent. Unfortunately I had to do a short sale with the falling Real Estate prices. Barbara found a buyer almost immediately, but during the drawn out process Barbara was there to guide me every step of the way. She would answer any question I had and would stay on top of the sale. I could call her anytime during the day and she would answer the phone in a cheerful voice. Her upbeat attitude gave me a sense of comfort. The short sale unfortunately fell through as the buyer backed out at the last minute. Barbara told me don’t worry. Trattoria Abbondanza

Mike (husband) and some of our Port Liberte friends were excited to try a new restaurant in downtown Jersey City on Grand Street at Liberty Harbor. Trattoria Abbondanza surpassed our greatest expectations. How nice to find parking and then to be greeted by the gracious owners. If you like brick oven pizza or superb Italian cuisine, try this restaurant. Bring your own favorite bottle of wine. After dinner we enjoyed a wonderfully performed show at the Attic Ensemble Theater, Next Fall. As always, the actors and the play were superb.

A Friday evening at the Pointe

The Alan Quinn group featuring Jeanine with an amazing voice doing old favorites last Friday made an enjoyable evening.
